Global Configurator Help File

There are eight books in the Global Configurator (GC) help file.

Click on the book icon ( ) to the left of each book title or scroll down the page for a description of each book.

Use the navigation pane at left to navigate through the GC help file.

There are also a drop-down product listing, and step-by-step instructions, for adding and configuring the selected product, in the yellow box that runs across the top of the page.

The same step-by-step instructions are found in Book 4 "Step-by-Step Product Configuration".

Global Configurator Prerequisites

Book 1 includes:

• System Requirements – Describes the hardware and software required to run Global Configurator.

• Device Firmware Requirements – Provides a listing of the minimum and recommended device firmware requirements for all Extron IP Link® products when running Global Configurator.  Also provided are instructions for downloading new device firmware from the Extron Web site.

• Preparing Devices for a Network Connection – Describes three ways to set the communications parameters for an IP Link product which prepares the device for addition to an audio/visual network.

Book 2 includes:

• Overview of Global Configurator – A brief introduction to the scope and functionality of the Extron Global Configurator application.

• Overview of GlobalViewer – A brief introduction to the scope and functionality of the Extron GlobalViewer interface.

• Overview of IP Link Products – A brief introduction to each of the Extron IP Link products.

• Overview of MediaLink® and PoleVault® Switchers – A brief introduction to each of Extron's MediaLink and PoleVault switchers.

Book 3 includes:

• Downloading Global Configurator – Step-by-step instructions for downloading the Global Configurator application from the Extron Web site.

• Downloading Device Drivers – Step-by-step instructions for downloading device drivers for your audio/visual devices from the Extron Web site.

• Starting Global Configurator – Step-by-step instructions for starting the Global Configurator application.
