Protected Configuration

A protected configuration is a password (PIN)-protected configuration containing all elements (including all level settings, DSP processing,  and mix matrix settings. A protected configuration can be used to return the device to a known state in order to remotely troubleshoot the installation. It can be recalled by any user but can be written or overwritten only using a PIN (up to 4 digits). You can access the settings for saving, recalling, or changing the PIN, separate from the Save Preset option, by clicking the Tools menu and selecting the Protected Configuration submenu. You can also perform these functions via SIS™ commands.

NOTE:  Protected Configuration submenu options are available only in Live mode.

Save

  1. Create a configuration that you would like to save as your protected configuration.

  2. From the Tools menu, locate the Protected Configuration submenu and select Save.  The Save Protected Configuration dialog box opens.

  3. In the dialog box, enter the current PIN.

  4. Click OK to save the protected configuration.  A dialog box opens confirming that the protected configuration has been saved.

NOTE:  Saving a protected configuration overwrites any protected configuration previously saved to the device.

Restore

A protected configuration must be saved to the device before it can be restored.

To restore a protected configuration:

  1. From the Tools menu, locate the Protected Configuration submenu and select Restore. A confirmation dialog box opens asking whether you want to proceed.

  2. Click OK to restore the protected configuration.

NOTE:  Restoring a protected configuration overwrites all audio settings that are currently on the device.

Change PIN

The PIN can be up to 4 digits in length. The default PIN is 0000 and must be used to create a new PIN. It is highly recommended that you change the default PIN, either before or immediately after saving a protected configuration.

To change the PIN:

  1. From the Tools menu, locate the Protected Configuration submenu and select Change PIN. The Change PIN dialog box opens.

  2. In the Old PIN field, enter the current PIN number.

  3. In the New PIN field, enter the new PIN number.

  4. In the Re-enter PIN field, enter the new PIN number again.

  5. Click OK to complete the PIN number change. A dialog box opens confirming that the password has been changed.
