Output Gain

An output channel GAIN block provides gain control and mute control.

See the Optimizing Audio Levels section for more information.

Adjusting Output Gain

The output channel GAIN block opens a Gain dialog box that provides left-channel and right-channel faders with a gain range of -24 dB to +12 dB. Level setting text fields are located below the faders. The default setting is unmuted at unity gain (0.0 dB).

The Gang button couples the left-channel and right-channel faders and Mute buttons. Ganged faders move together at relative levels to the top or bottom. If one fader reaches the maximum value of the gain range, it retains that position while the other fader continues to move. When you adjust one of the faders in the reverse direction, the other fader reverts to its relative position. The Gang button is shaded green when the two faders are ganged.

To adjust the signal individually to the left or right stereo bus, click the associated Mute button. The Mute button is shaded red when the signal is muted.

You can set left or right channel polarity to be positive (+) or negative (-). Positive polarity is the default.

Channel mute is located post-fader, post-meter, and pre-DAC (digital to analog converter) so that when you mute channels, the signal is still represented visually in the meters.

Left-channel and right-channel peak meters are located post-fader and pre-DAC (digital to analog converter). The peak meters display levels of -60 dBFS to 0 dBFS, with a last-peak-level (peak hold) readout below each meter.

NOTE:  The meter readout fields display values only when in Live mode.
