An Ethernet connection is recommended when configuring DSP. However, a USB or RS-232 serial connection can be used. When connecting via Ethernet directly to the device (not through a network), a crossover cable is necessary. Both Administrator- and User-level passwords can be stored
on ProDSP IP address, primary and secondary RS-232 port baud rates, as well as administrator and user passwords can be set using the Tools > Device Settings option when connected in Live mode.
Setting these parameters with DSP Configurator as well as alternate methods are described in the subsections that follow. |

NOTE: For the MPX Plus 866 A, the factory default baud rate is 9600 for each of the RS-232 ports. For the DMP 64 and MLS 608 D Series, the factory default baud rate is 38400 for each of the RS-232 ports. |
To change the baud rate using DSP Configurator:
From the Tools menu, select Device Settings. The Device Settings dialog opens.
Click the Serial Settings tab.
Select the Primary RS-232 Port check box, Secondary RS-232 Port check box, or both.
From the respective drop-down list, select the desired baud rate.
Click Apply to save the change and continue updating other settings. Alternately, click OK to save the new setting and exit the screen.
The baud rate settings can also be changed using one of the following alternate methods:
Front Panel Controls (MPX Plus 866 A only) - See the MPX Plus 866 A User Guide for the procedure for setting the baud rate of the device.
DataViewer - Use either an Ethernet connection or a USB connection to perform this operation. See the device user guide for the SIS commands that you can use to change the baud rate for the respective device.

PasswordsProDSP Ethernet-enabled devices accept both Administrator- and User-level passwords. When an administrator password exists on the device, DSP Configurator requires the administrator password before connecting to the device in Live mode. To create or modify a password using DSP Configurator:
